Michael Tovar wanted a simple clean look for his company, Media Magic. With the word “magic” already firmly ingrained in his brand, it was necessary for the rebrand to include this theme, while keeping the company’s primary service in mind, digital marketing consulting.
Merlin, a wizard and advisor to King Arthur during the middle ages is a figure that accomplishes both objectives. Where as Merlin gave sound counsel to King Arthur, Media Magic gives sound counsel to businesses. With the tie-in to magic and the parallels to Media Magic, Merlin is the optimal icon for the brand.
With the philosophy of the logo decided, it was time to focus on the creative. A modern, edgy sans serif typeface was chosen for the wordmark. The icon’s simplistic design was to showcase Merlin, while creating consistency with the wordmark. The color palette consists of a flat black, deep purple, and cool gray.
